How To Use Twitter For Business
Hi Folks
Today I’m going to talk about how you can use Twitter for business online. Not long ago when Twitter first came out it was hard for most business owners to understand exactly were the power of Twitter lies and understood less how it could be used for their business.
After all tweeting short messages with a very limited amount of characters was a concept that was both new and not easily understood. But Twitter has since become a powerful way for businesses to interact with consumers, expand brand awareness , interact with potential clients and network with new contacts. And now there are also twitter tools availible to make things easier. Here are some exciting ways that Twitter can impact your business.
Twitter is a powerful way to expose your brand online
Twitter is a great place to project your brand online. When you get Twitter followers it is because they want to receive information about your business and be informed of your latest business updates. You can make as many tweets/ updates that you want to your followers using your brand without any fear of being accused of spamming.
This is because instead of pushing information to your readers via email that may or may not be read, you are providing information that was requested by your followers on Twitter. Your Twitter followers are interested in your information and requested to receive more of your information.
Twitter is a great place to network and make new contacts
If you are trying to meet someone, Twitter is a great way to get around the normal obstacles. Trying to get past a secretary or trying to meet someone at a crowded seminar can be difficult. But if you have the persons Twitter handle then you can make a connection on the social network that can eventually lead to a meeting in person.
The way you start this process on twitter is simple. First follow the person that you want to make contact with, retweet their tweets and reply to any of their request with helpful information and you will get their attention. By creating a social contact in this way on twitter then when the time is right you can introduce your self and they will already know a little about you and be more open to communicating with you.
Identify their pain points
Twitter is a great way of tracking exactly what is happening in your industry. You can gather information to determine what your clients are doing, what your competition is doing and also determine what your clients competition are up to.
For example lets say that you have a big potential client on your radar. Then one of their competitors launches a new product. This new product launch could take away a lot of business from your potential client.
This will be a great opportunity for you to come in and offer help. While you might not get immediate business for you , your offer to help your potential client will be appreciated and your goodwill could lead to future business for you.
Using Twitter at conventions
Any upcoming conventions, trade shows etc. will have their own Twitter feeds. This is a powerful way for you to tap into your target market.
When a convention comes start participating on the chat going on at Twitter. Doing so will get your brand in front of potential leads at the event. Doing this a few weeks in advance of the convention will make you business known by a lot of people in advance of the event.
Twitter has become a powerful social medium that businesses small and big are taking advantage of. Twitter is not only a social tool for consumers but also a powerful social media tool for creating goodwill and getting intelligence for marketing as well as gathering intelligence for business to business sales.
